I have been a WalMart customer for ***years and have never been treated as I was yesterday. I was at the WalMart Store ***** (New Hope Rd., Raleigh NC) at the self check-out. The last item I rang up was strawberries rang up wrong. The price labeled in large print in the produce section stated $*.** and it rang up $*.**. I showed the attending cashier assigned to this area the sign and asked if she could change it. She said she could not and the price that was ringing up was the price I would have to pay! I asked her to please check with her manager which she did. After speaking with her Manager she said she would have to start over and ring all of my groceries on her register. I said OK but did not understand why she was not able to override the incorrect price. I put all of my groceries in the cart and took them to her register. After ringing up all of the groceries, she tried to change the price of the strawberries but again, could not. She obviously had not been trained on how to override an incorrect price! She went back to her Manager Richard who was on another register and he told her to tell me to bring my groceries over to him and he would ring them up. So again, I put the groceries back in the cart and took them over to the register where he was checking out others and got in the back of his line. I had complained to Richard and told him I was not happy with the service I had received. Richard finally contacted another front-end employee and asked him to check me out! It took me almost an hour to get $** worth of groceries checked-out. I have a niece who is a manager at a Michigan WalMart and am confident she would not have handled my situation in this unacceptable manner! This WalMart is in a convenient location for me but, I am considering taking my business elsewhere to get better customer service. I have witnessed the significant deterioration of this store over the last few years with empty shelves, lack of staff, lack of cleanliness, etc. Obviously, the management you have in place at this store is not trained or equipped to effectively present your brand to the public!
