After the last heavy rain storm ( approximately four weeks ago) the light on my Telstra NBN smart modem turned from green to blue. This is not an unusual occurrence and has ben happening since the conversion of dial up internet. My usual response is to contact Telstra and go through the usual ritual of checking if the problem is with my equipment. The outcome has always been the same that after an internal test the problem is found to be with Telstra's equipment. A technician is sent to find that a pit in the street has filled with water and the problem is then solved. When finished the technician knocks on the door to say "problem fixed and it will not occur again. Surprise after the next very heavy rain storm I have to go through this process again. NBN comes along and I foolishly think problem solved but no the equipment in the pits has not been upgraded same old connections wrapped in plastic to try and keep the water out. So I have been waiting for this current problem to be fixed by Telstra without any input from me as it did last time. In the last day or two I received text message from Telstra to visit "fix.telstra.com or go to tel.st***wrx. if I do not reconnect to the fixed network my mobile backup will be slowed. I have tried both of these solutions the fix.telstra.com just goes around in circles and waists my time with no result and I can't connect to "tel.st***wrx because my internet speed is now too slow and it times out. Let me remind you that I have a legal contract between myself and Telstra to supply me with the agreed service and I fail to understand how Telstra can lower my internet speed because of a problem that is not of my making and I have no control over.*I wish to have this problem fixed so that I can enjoy the product that I am paying for as soon as possible. If the solution is in my hands please explain in simple term how I can fix it.*Regards,*Brian Cooper.
