I bought tix for a flight from BDL to ORF. Conf * *BHAC*. I also bought an A position upgrade for both flights. I arrived in BWI in time to catch the earlier flight that was delayed. I went to the gate...They had seats, the doors were not closed and ticket agent would not let me get on the flight. This was not a “ wanna get away” it was a Business select tix. This would have saved me * hours of travel time. I had enough time to call my own corporate travel to pay fir a * way ticket....at that point she said I was too late. I called customer service and Explained the situation. They said I should have been able to get on the flight since it was business select. They suggested I speak to a supervisor in BWI airport. I got a supervisor and she basically told me that She coujd not do anything. She never looked up my reservation. She told me I should have asked for a supervisor at the gate for the earlier flight. The lack of understanding of a business select ticket and the ability to go standby is frustrating. Her lack of desire to “ help” a customer was very apparent. The ** minute hold time speak to customer service was long with no outcome other than to hunt down a supervisor at BWI. The complete lack of caring from the supervisor that I was told to speak to was amazing- actually telling me I handled it incorrectly for not asking for a supervisor before the other plane left! Not the normal Southwest Customer service. And by the way.. my original flight is now delayed. The agent could have helped and she made a decision not to. I fly a lot... not all with southwest. I may have to rethink the loyalty program here. I could already be at my destination if your agent understood a business class ticket and felt the customer was important. I am Very frustrated. I won’t go into detail but I felt that I was discriminated against as a white women. They had seats and the doors were open and she would not let me on the flight with a business class ticket. These detail about my situation should be documented by the customer service person I spoke to.
