Dear Sir, I am writing to report an issue with a recent online purchase from Striape.com on May 3rd, [redacted]. I paid $[redacted].76 for 2 items using my Merrick Bank Credit Card ending in [redacted]. Despite multiple requests, I have not received the items or a refund. I have tried calling multiple times (40) to inquire about my closed account from 5-6-20. Unfortunately, each time I have been disconnected or dealt with rudely by multiple representatives who seemed unfamiliar with my situation. This issue has negatively impacted my credit score. I maintain a flawless payment record on my 18 other credit cards with a perfect rating. I chose to close this account due to numerous fraudulent charges that I have faced.

I am disappointed to share my recent experience with trying to improve my credit history using a new credit card. I aimed to demonstrate responsible payment behavior to increase my credit limit after 6 months. Unfortunately, during the sixth payment attempt, I encountered an issue. I typically used my husband's debit card, as we share an account, and it is our only card. Regrettably, I learned that payments must be made with a card in my own name, leaving me unable to complete the transaction. Despite this setback, I sincerely hope that you can review my account and reconsider raising my credit limit to $[redacted] as initially planned. I have successfully made previous payments using my husband's card without any challenges until this incident. Kindly advise on any steps I can take to address this matter and proceed with increasing my credit limit. Thank you for your attention.

I recently received notice from the credit bureaus that my available credit on my account has been reduced from $[redacted] to $[redacted]. Upon contacting your customer service department, I was informed that this reduction was due to inactivity on the card leading to account closure. I have been diligently working on improving my credit to purchase a house, so this sudden decrease in available credit will have a significant negative impact on my credit score, even though I have not violated any terms. I suggested reactivating the card and committing to regular usage, but was advised that this was not an option. I am disappointed that there was no prior communication about this decision. I sincerely hope that we can find a resolution that involves keeping my account open with the original credit limit restored, as I am willing to resume using the card actively. I look forward to your response on how we can address this situation.

I made a purchase yesterday, but the amount charged to my credit card was higher than expected. Then, I received a duplicate order confirmation for the next day. I tried contacting them, but couldn't find a phone number or address. I received a notice about a Trojan virus on my phone, prompting me to use an iPhone app to remove it. I contacted Merrick Bank to dispute the charge, but it's still pending. After emailing the company to credit my account and threatening to report them, they claimed that only one charge was made and refunded it. I have since discovered a second charge today and have asked them to block any future charges. I had to install Norton [redacted] on my smartphone to remove the potential virus caused by this ordeal. I am appalled by the actions of this company and have reported them to the FTC to prevent further issues.

I recently ordered a free sample of pills, only to find out it cost me $27.00 billed to my Merrick Bank Credit Card. This was my first and last time requesting a free trial. Later, I was charged $[redacted].00 without receiving any product or information. Despite disputing the charge within 60 days and Merrick Bank initially refunding it, the amount was later added back, citing it wasn't disputed in time. Despite informing them of the scam and evidence I found, they refused to refund the money. It's frustrating that Merrick Bank wouldn't hold the scam company accountable, especially after acknowledging the issue initially. I urge Merrick Bank to reconsider and prevent such dishonest companies from taking advantage of their customers. Thank you for your attention to this matter. - Sharon C.

I mistakenly made two payments on my Merrick Bank credit card, resulting in a negative balance of $[redacted]. Despite seeking guidance from a service representative who offered to issue a refund or keep the credit, I was unaware of the cash advance fees and interest charges incurred. Subsequently, my balance increased to -$[redacted] with $50 in cash advance fees levied. Upon contacting two service reps today, I was informed about the ongoing interest charges. Feeling frustrated by the lack of initial disclosure, I wish to have the cash advance fees refunded due to the unexpected interest on my own funds. I seek to escalate my concerns beyond customer service and explore options to transfer my Merrick account to either Capitol One or my Mastercard to avoid further issues.

I settled my Merrick Bank credit card debt through Phillips and Cohen Associates, but when I requested a paid off account balance letter from Merrick Bank, they refused. I need this letter to remove the account from my credit report for an escrow closing. Merrick Bank claims they don't provide such letters to consumers, putting my escrow at risk. The credit bureau won't accept the letter from Phillips and Cohen Associates. I'm under pressure to get this resolved soon to avoid falling out of escrow. The situation is causing me a lot of stress.

I have a secured card with your bank and want to increase my credit via a deposit. Despite speaking with customer service, who advised me to make the deposit as a payment, I later learned from a more knowledgeable agent that it was not the correct process. The helpful agent is now resolving the issue, but it may take 10-14 days. I need this resolved before my trip on the 26th. My money is tied up due to the incorrect information provided initially. I am reaching out for assistance as I need this sorted promptly.

Hello, I am Matthew McLean, the son of Mark McLean. I recently emailed [redacted] with my father's death certificate as he passed away on August 3rd, [redacted]. Upon going through his belongings, I discovered his wallet containing various account cards, including one from Merrick Bank. I understand the importance of not sharing account information without proper documentation, which I am prepared to provide. I am reaching out to inquire about the types of accounts my father held with your institution - whether they were investments, checking, savings, or credit cards that may need to be canceled. As his next of kin and the one handling his affairs due to him being unmarried, I am willing to provide any necessary documentation to assist in this matter. Thank you.

I received a preapproved $[redacted].00 credit line offer for the Double Your Line Visa with an acceptance certificate number [redacted]5T, hoping to increase my credit to buy a home. After applying, my credit was denied, causing a negative impact on my credit score. I have been working hard to build my credit and am disappointed by this outcome. I believe there must be better ways to handle these situations in a more compassionate manner. I have been a loyal customer with my bank for years and have been responsibly managing my two cards with low credit limits. This experience has been challenging, and it is disheartening to feel misled in my efforts to improve my financial situation.

I need to urgently speak with the fraud department manager. I have been trying for weeks to resolve this issue with no success, always getting transferred and having to wait over an hour each time. I have reported this to the BBB, and my next step will be legal action if it is not resolved. I have faxed payment information showing payment was returned, but my bank statement confirms payment was made. Despite providing this information, no refund has been issued. Although your representatives and supervisors deny that payment was made, my bank account indicates otherwise. If this matter is not resolved, I will have to close my original card with you.

Hello, I have a question and I'm unsure if you can assist me. I purchased a vacation package from Unsold Vacations in July [redacted]. They have received a cease and desist order for taking reservations. I just discovered this information last night as I was about to make my travel plans within the next few days. It seems I am no longer able to proceed with my booking. As it has been over a year, I understand that a refund may not be possible due to a dispute, but I wanted to inquire about any potential options available to me. Your assistance would be highly appreciated. Best regards, Jennifer B.

Regarding my recent attempts to make a credit card payment for my Merrick Bank Visa, I have encountered issues over the past four days. Due to unforeseen purchases earlier this month that depleted my checking account, I needed to use a credit card for the payment. Despite being assured by a telephone agent that this would be possible, the EZ Pay site only accepted debit cards. I encountered a technical glitch where the payment page wouldn't load after entering my debit card details. Additionally, there was confusion with the displayed payment amount, as it incorrectly reflected the transaction charge. The site appears to be malfunctioning, and I kindly request for it to be rectified promptly to allow me to settle my bill, which is due in nine days. Sincerely, Mahlon B.

Dear Customer Service, I submitted a credit card application on September 10, [redacted], but I never received a response or the card. My credit report shows a $48 balance with your company, which I would like to address by closing the account. The card was likely lost in the mail. Since then, I have moved and my new address is as follows: Debra A McLelland P O Box [redacted] Wheeling, IL [redacted] Unfortunately, I can't provide a credit card number as I never received the card. Please confirm the closure of this account and removal from my credit report. I appreciate your attention to this matter. Thank you.

I received an alert from the credit bureau stating that my credit score decreased by [redacted] points because Merrick Bank reported a $9 payment as 60 days late. Despite believing the payment was set up for automatic withdrawal, it was not. After contacting the bank, I settled the overdue payment and established automatic payments. I inquired about removing the negative report from the credit bureau, and was informed a response could take up to 48 hours. I am unsure if Merrick Bank offers goodwill adjustments or pay-for-delete. I have a solid 8-year history of timely payments, so this incident has greatly impacted my otherwise excellent credit. I am anxious to resolve this issue promptly without waiting 7 years for it to fall off my credit report.

On December 3rd, [redacted], around 7:00 a.m., I dialed the number provided on the app, 1-[redacted]. I waited for 30 minutes, but no one answered, and the call eventually disconnected. I tried again at 8:30 a.m., experiencing the same issue after being on hold for an hour. Frustrated, I searched the internet for an alternate number and found 1-[redacted]. Starting the call at 10:00 a.m., I have now been on hold for 48 minutes. I simply need confirmation on whether you received the check for the full balance of my account from my escrow. This information is crucial for me to follow up accordingly. It has been challenging to reach your customer service, making this my most disappointing experience so far.

I recently checked my credit report and noticed a new credit card from Merrick Bank listed, but I don't remember applying for it. I didn't receive any confirmation emails or notifications from Merrick Bank, and when I tried to access their website, it asked for an account number which I never received. I was considering applying for a credit card, and I might have started an application but I'm unsure if I completed it.

I noticed on my transaction history that there was a charge on DEC 6 for $[redacted].81 from my stay at the Hyatt House Jersey City on Dec 5. However, my stay was prepaid through Priceline, so this should only be an authorization, not an actual charge. There is also another charge on DEC 6 for $[redacted].81 for my stay on Dec 6 at the same hotel, which was also prepaid and should only show as an authorization. I see this authorization is pending, but I'm worried it might post as a charge like the first one, when both should only be authorizations. Additionally, there is a $40 hold from the Residence Inn for a canceled stay, which should be removed from my account balance. Could you please assist with this? I'm concerned about how it may affect my credit score.

I am inquiring about the status of my payment on Merrick Bank. I am taking legal action against them for account restrictions due to alleged discrimination. They claimed a large payment was not made, despite my consistent payments over six years. Merrick Bank closed my account without notice, affecting my credit. They acknowledge my long-standing customer status and credit limit increases. As a state employee earning $75,[redacted] annually, a homeowner, and with 22 years of service, I feel unfairly treated. Merrick Bank has not restored my account, leading to unwarranted inconveniences for my family.
