My Experience Calling 855-812-4430

There are a lot of reasons why people might need to call Venmo, from fraudulent transactions to simply forgetting their login information. There are also technical issues and compatibility issues, which means that Venmo customer service is likely busy. Despite that fact, the hold time for Venmo is not bad at all. However, navigating the directory tree can take some time. Once you get to the end of it, the actual wait time to talk to an agent is low, so I would call again if I needed more help. 

I called Venmo because I needed help with resetting my password. My account got locked, and I needed help getting it unlocked so that I could log in and transfer my balance back to my bank card. When I called their phone number, I was greeted by a recorded message that thanked me for calling Venmo and encouraged me to go online and chat with Venmo either from their website or within the app. They stated that service would be faster if I chose one of these two options. 

Then, the recording thanked me for my patience and started to run through my options, which included bank transfer issues, locked or frozen accounts, status refund, business profiles, etc. I pressed three for a locked account and was given two new options: press one for a forgotten password or press two for a code. Then, it told me all issues could be resolved online. 

I pressed one, and the recorded message told me that, for security purposes, password issues have to be done online by the owner of the account. This could be done online or from the app. I thought for a second that meant that I couldn't get help from a live agent, which worried me because I had not been successful at using the app to reset my password. 

However, it then told me that I could press 9 to connect with a live agent. I happily pressed 9, and then, it asked me if the number I was calling from was connected to the account. It was, so I pressed one, and it asked me the last four digits of a bank or credit card tied to my account. I entered the number twice, but it didn't work, so the recording told me that it was unable to validate info and to wait to speak with an agent. While irritating, this was fine because it meant I was going to get to talk to someone. 

Then, it asked me to hold to be transferred and that the wait time would be less than 2 minutes. Piano music played, and I was connected within 30 seconds to an agent who walked me through my problem quickly. I would call again if I needed help because the wait time is so short, even if it took a bit of time to get to the agent.
